Praia Azul is located on the north side of a 1.5-km-long beach. The south side of the same beach is called Praia Foz do Sizandro. It’s a typical beach break that picks up lots of swell and has multiple peaks with both lefts and rights. The north side of Praia Azul also has a nice reef break.
It’s a good place to go if you want to escape the crowds and usually works best between low and mid tide. It’s quite sensitive to wind and swell direction, so timing is key if you don’t want to be disappointed. Northwest swell and wind from the east are ideal. You can surf right in front of the parking.
