Pontissima is a righthander located in between the famous surf spots Ribeira d’Ilhas and Cave. You can access the wave from both sides, but the easiest access is from Ribeira d’Ilhas with its great facilities and parking. Paddling out on the north side of the bay, you will first pass Pontinha before reaching Pontissima. This heavy wave breaks over reef and works best around mid tide.

Since it’s a long paddle from Ribeira, it’s less crowded but also more local. Only go there if you know what you are doing and respect the locals!
