Limipicos is an exposed reef break that has reliable surf. It can work any time, but the best period is the summer half of the year. The take-off is next to a rocky ledge and the wave breaks to the right over a flat stone reef. Although the take-off is easier than at its neighbour Lage dos tubos, the reef is a bit sharper so take care when getting in and out.
The best swell direction is from the west or northwest and the best tide somewhere between mid and high. This surf spot doesn’t work with low tide as the reef is exposed then. Limipicos can only handle smaller swells up to 1.5 meters. Cliffs cover the spot from strong offshore winds. As it is a longer walk (over cobblestones) or paddle from Foz do Lizandro beach, this spot is normally less crowded with the occasional surf school giving intermediate lessons here.
