Lage dos Tubos is the first reef break north of Foz do Lizandro beach. This consistent wave breaks over a flat stone bottom and normally is a fun, but short righthander with an easy paddle. You can get a lot of waves in a short period of time, so it’s perfect to improve your surfing.
It’s ideal for good intermediate or advanced surfers and with the right conditions you will find nice, small tubes here. Although some surf schools use this break for beginning intermediates, the take-off is shallow and not beginner friendly. The take-off spot is small and the break short, so it can’t handle many surfers at the same time.
The best conditions for Lage dos Tubos are between mid and high tide, with low tide it’s too shallow. It can happen that the wave doesn’t work properly because there is too much sand around the reef. When the waves are bigger, they break more outside with a possible reform on the reef.
