Crazy left is just what the name implies, a wave breaking to the left with hollow and fast barrels. It is a point break wave located along the southern part of the Baia dos Dois Irmaos, basically between the surf spots Cave and Coxos. To reach this spot, it’s best to park the car at Coxos and paddle from the Baia dos Dois Irmaos. Because this wave is very exposed to the typical northern wind, it’s inconsistent in terms of quality. However, when it works, it’s crazy!
The ideal conditions for Crazy Left are mild winds from the east (SE to NE) and swell from the northwest. Because this break is located close to the channel of the neighbouring break Coxos, the outgoing current often prevents this break from producing quality waves. It’s recommended to surf this spot only with higher tide.
